It's a Journey that Leads to Kingdom Come

While sitting here drawing a blank on what to write about, God dropped this into my spirit (It's a Journey that Leads to Kingdom Come). When I write in this blog, I want to share things that are going on in my life, but I also want it to be a place of encouraging and sending out. I mean, that is part of the Great Commandment isn't it? :]

I leave Las Delicias, San Martin,  El Salvador in t-minus 3 days.  I left Iquitos, Peru 29 days ago. I left Youngstown, Ohio 38 days ago. However, my journey does not stop when I take my first off of Salvadorean soil. It is merely the beginning of this great journey that will last for a very, very, VERY long time. A journey that leads to Kingdom come. Lately, the reality of the Great Commission has been burning in my heart. Matthew 28:18-20 is not a suggestion, it's a command. Our assignment. We all must go and make disciples of all nations, then baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. And after that is done, we must teach them to do as we have done in their lives so that they as well can fulfill the Great Commission.

When we grasp this concept, we begin to look at the world differently. We listen to sermon's differently. The road on our journey as more purpose.

There is a creed that I love.  One that we were given during Master's Commission and is now given to the students of VSOM.

This is it:

The Disciples Creed:

I'm part of the fellowship of the unashamed. I have stepped over the line. The decision has been made. I'm a disciple of Jesus Christ. I won't look back, let up, slow down, back away, or be still. My past is redeemed, my present makes sense, and my future is secure. I'm finished and done with low living, sight walking, small planning, smooth knees, colorless dreams, tamed visions, mundane talking, cheap loving, and dwarfed goals. I no longer need preeminence, prosperity, position, promotions, plaudits or popularity.
I don't have to be right, first, tops, recognized, praised, regarded or rewarded. I now live by faith, lean on His presence, walk by patience, lift by prayer, and labor by power. My face is set, my gait is fast, my goal is heaven, my road is narrow, my way rough, my companions few, my Guide reliable, my mission clear. I cannot be bought, deluded or delayed. I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of the adversary, negotiate at the table of the enemy, or meander in the maze of mediocrity. I won't give up, shut up, and let the cause of Christ Go.

I am a disciple of Jesus. I must go till He comes~ give till I drop, preach till all know, and work till He stops me. And when He comes for His own, He will have no problem recognizing me - My banner will be clear!

This is what my life runs by. My journey is to fulfill the Great Commission until I see His Kingdom come and I will not stop until His Glory Fills the earth. Whether is it here in El Salvador, or some country in the Middle East, I will do as my Father tells me and spread His Glory among the nations.

I hope and pray that you all can get a hold of this like I have, because it is very important. IT IS THE COMMAND FROM GOD TO HIS PEOPLE!

With His Love,
Mary Lenke

Catching the Beauty

His beauty is everywhere. Sometimes, I wonder if we would just open up our eyes a little bit more, we would see Him in His fullness. We have His artwork all around us at every time of the day. This came to my mind when I was at a class that some of the boys that I help teach, go to. It's a break-dancing class. As I stood there with everyone around me laughing, dancing, or simply standing and watching, I saw God's art.  It was not about the legalistic mind-set some have anymore.  It was about how when these guys danced, they seemed free. And that in itself is God's artwork.  My mission while I am here (well one of them at least), is to represent Christ while I dance with them and show them that much more freedom. That they are a magnificent pieces of art.

Open yours eye's. What art are you missing?
