thankful for the frustration

Some time ago, a friend was sharing a story about being thankful when it is hard to be thankful.  Example being spilling coffee all down the front of you.  HOT COFFEE.  So what do you do then?  Of course be thankful that you work at a coffee shop where coffee stains all down the front of you is the normal.  Or for instance, when your only car between you and your husband needs fixed.

AGAIN.

What do you do?  You're thankful that your little brother lets the both of you use his car until you get yours back.  But then what do you do when you find out that the fix is more than what you can afford?  You thank God that He is a really great Father who provides for His children.  You thank God for being THE God of Provision.  And although finances are not yet there, you thank Him because He is a great Dad that does not leave His children in need.

Then when you venture over to your earthly parents house to pick up laundry, they tell you that they are paying for 90% of the fix which turns the job into one you can afford.  He is a God of Provision.

God does not give us only what we need, He gives us more than enough.  He is more than enough.

I am so thankful for these frustrations that have come our way because I am able to see a facet of God in a new light.  I am understanding what Paul talks about in 2 Corinthians 12...

"So for the sake of Christ, I am well pleased and take please in infirmities, insults, HARDSHIPS, persecutions, perplexities, and distresses; for when I am weak [in human strength], then am I [truly] strong (able, powerful in divine strength)." - v. 10 AMP

In the verses before,  Paul talks about how God answered him when he asked the Lord to take the thorn out of His flesh.  God told Paul that His power, favor, mercy, and loving-kindness were made complete (fulfilled) in his weakness.  Uhhhh, enough said.

So next time frustration arises, turn it into being thankful for His strength to not let it affect you  throughout the day.  Be thankful for His goodness that does not change depending on your situation.

He is good.  Rest in that.
